MESA serves undergraduate students through two programs that offer
academic and career preparation through a collaboration with postsecondary
institutions and industry.
Students are selected to take part in MESA through a process that
involves participating institutions and local MESA center personnel.
The MESA Community College Program
assists community college students to excel in math, science and
engineering courses so they can transfer to four-year institutions
in math-based fields. The program emphasizes academic enrichment,
involvement with industry and work experience through internships
and summer jobs.
The MESA Engineering Program supports
engineering and computer science students in four-year institutions
so they can attain their baccalaureate degrees. In addition to academic
assistance, the program offers scholarship information, internships,
and opportunities to work with industry representatives who are
closely involved with the program.
